Love the idea of the bevelled edges, but I can't see how this fits in with the standard guitar building technique (rims, kerfing, etc).  At what step are they made, how are they braced, etc? 

I just want to understand the process, because its driving me crazy!

Hi Laurie,

here are a couple pics of a little different armrest. Instead of beveling the edge and cutting away part of the edge of the soundboard, this armrest actually goes on without having to remove any of the top. It keeps your arm off the guitar top thus letting more of it vibrate. I think this is a superior design as far as sound. As we all know, the area around and behind the bridge is the most active part of the top, so it seems logical that an armrest which prevents dampening would be beneficial. Unfortunately I have no idea how he (David Schramm) makes and attaches these, but I will tell you his guitars are CANNONS, and it doesn't hurt that these are on lattice braced guitars.
