My new shop is almost ready to get back to work and I have 3 commissions to build as soon as it is ready !  WOOO HOOO! These will be #'s 11, 12, &13. I may build a couple of "extras" just to use up some of the wood I have on hand.

Since all 3 of these are dreads, I already have the plans / blueprints to get them done so there is no immediate need for anything, but I always try to look to the future.

I have tried looking at the plans that are available at G.A.L, and am quite disturbed at all of the plans that are out there. We all know that all guitars aren't the same and anybody with a pencil and straight edge can draw plans, so I am wondering if any of you have bought any of these plans that you are pleased with or if there are any that you could reccomend?

My 2 main guitars that I build so far are dreads and a "Prima" guitar which is similar to a 000 in size. I am not interested in classical guitars at this time, so my main interest is in building steel string guitars. I would like to complete my line of guitars with an 00, 000  and maybe a "special" guitar like a parlor.

So with all of that info to go on, do y'all have any reccomendations for guitar plans ? Is there another source for guitar plans that you could reccomend?

I have the small bodied plans from LMI and they are pretty good - I think that the brace dimensions on them are a little oversized in certain cases but thats an easy alteration to make on the fly.
I think that there are much beter plans than GAL out there - I certainly didnt like the selection there anyhow.

I have a set of prewar dred plans from John Hall @ Bluescreek that I am very happy with. I also like the new AJ plans that just came out from the OLF--I think those were John Watkins--very nice plans.
I also have a set of OM plans from John Mayes that I use often. Hey wait, why are all the plans from Johns?? Now thats just strange.
