Seems I once said I'd post some shots of this along the way.

Here's a couple shots of the progress.

Top bracing going on (you've seen the rosette):

Next, a shot of the back glued to the sides:

And, looking inside, before clean-up:

Thanks for looking,

Steve

That looks really good, Steve.  Nice clean work, and beautiful wood. Keep us updated.

    Real Nice!

That wood looks almost as good unfinished as finished.

Is it my old eyes or did you use regular kerfing for the back and reverse kerfing for the top?

Looks good to me bro. Did you run out of regular kerfing or do you just like to mix your kerfing styles. I am with you on the regular kerfing looking better so put it where it will catch the eye. The reversed kerfing on the top will support wide purfling better. IMHO.

Beautiful, Steve. I just bought another set of the TazTigMyrt from Tim. What have your impressions of the wood so far.

Thanks, amigos!
Some answers:
Hesh, you are correct, that ain't spruce, it's Hond. mahogany.
Red, bro and Waddy, the upper is reverse kerfed, and the lower is the triangular. It's like KBE said, I just like the look of the triangular, so it's used where it's seen--on the back. And the order in which I put together the box, it benefits from having the reversed (stiffer) linings on the top.

Matt, my impressions of TazTigMyrt are that it is somewhere between Indian rosewood and walnut as far as bending. It sands well, and planes well. It seems a bit subject to tear-out, but that just might be the piece I have. And, it is undeniably beautiful.

Thanks again, guys--

Steve

Let's see that again. Wow what a guitar body. I have to say that's in the top five or ten I've ever seen, and there have been some great ones posted here.

Go Steve Go. This one is going to be a great looking guitar.

Thanks again, guys!
I'm a little surprised no one took me to task over the glue squeeze-out on the top bracing pic.
What a kind bunch!

Steve

We just figured that step would come after

14. Take picture
15. Clean up glue squeeze-out
16. Have a cup of java
17. Check OLF postings
18. Break for lunch

Tell us you did clean up the glue?

Mine looks pretty much like that too when it's first glued on so I assume you'll clean it up.

I do like that wood too!!

Hey what is that back reinforcement strip? My guess is mahogany with a little finish of some kind, but it could be narra or really just painted OSB

Painted OSB?
Dang! Why didn't I think of that?
Actually, it's a scrap of old linoleum, pulled off the floor.

Either that or some mahogany that's got some FP on it.
