I read a couple of posts now from people who got some granadillo to build with. I didn't get any of that zoot, but I finished this guitar with some LMI granadillo a month ago or so. Although it doesn't have any sap wood, it did have an interesting grain pattern in the middle. I liked the wood, though it was a lot of work to sand out. It is some pretty tough wood! Here are a couple of pictures: |

Very nice! I especially like the grain pattern along the center seam of the back and that bear claw is very stunning as well. But please......move those chisels away from the finished work of art... you're making me nervous from way over here |

That too is a beautiful instrument. I would like to see the chisels somewhere else too, although it does show off that finish well. Great looking guitar, beautiful wood and outstanding work. |

Looks GREAT!! gotta agree about how hard it is. it's like it's immune to sandpaper!! |

Thanks for the compliments. I used the chisels to get a reflection but rest assured, they are plenty far away. The bindings are curly maple as is the wedge graft and heel cap. Yep, I think the wood is immune to sandpaper, well at least sandpaper powered by my arms anyways! Let's just say I got a good workout on this one. |

David, beautiful. Nice choice of appointments with the back/side wood. I had the same reaction as you folks when I saw the chisels |

David, Granadillo is going to be said more often here, I think, after viewing this guitar and Bob's. Fine work, my friend! |
