Please excuse my silly newbie question :( , but I've got a big mess where I left some masking tape a liiiiittle too long (all along the sides of a new guitar, sprayed with can lacquer 2 months ago, but which hasn't been buffed out yet). I've probably got the correct solution for removing it, but am a little reluctant to try anything without asking first? What would remove it pretty quickly, but without damaging a 'new' finish? Thanks for your help (and patience), Ken |

Ken try some denatured alcohol on a soft cloth like an old t-shirt. Should come off pretty easy. |

Naptha should help as well. |

Thanks, guys. I've got a pretty good collection of solvents going now, as I gear up for building another guitar (or more). I was about to try naphtha, when I thought of the citrus solvent that another builder had introduced me to not long ago (Thanks, Paul H!). It worked like a charm, and nice smell to boot :) |

You still might want to give it a wipe with alcohol or naphtha. In my experience, those citrus solvents are pretty oily. |
