Peter, just in case nobody here has any, I got some from Steve at Colonial that look like chocolate. Got a matching fretboard, bridge blank and peghead overlay as well. Very nice stuff. Of course, Steve's stuff always is.

Yes Peter, I'll second Dave's suggestion. Steve Roberson is one heck of a first class wood vendor, I have always been very happy with both product and service. If you send Steve an image, I am sure he will come back with exactly what your looking for.

Cheers

Kim

Thanks guys!!
I am very familiar with Steve's stuff... in fact I just got some stuff from him last week!
He's a first class guy for sure.

Pete;
I've substituted Coco-The dark old stuff for braz. many times.
It looks the same and is by far much less pricey!!!

I have one extra Mad.Palisander side thats thick enough for bindings or H.S. veneers.LOOKS LIKE BRAZILIAN !!
Let me know if you want it & I'll ship it with the other woods .

I make bindings all the time for myself and other makers.
If you need any help in making some judt let me know.

Mike
