Steve and I collaborated on this OM. He did some and I did some and presto we had a guitar. Only took about a year but it was fun. It is amazing what sort of things you take for granted that have to be coordinated. Anyhow, somebody else owns it now and that's a good thing. ![]() The back and sides and neck are walnut with maple trimmings. ![]() I was thinking the back was curly Black Walnut but have heard from another source that it is Claro. Steve probably knows since it was his walnut. ![]() The rosette is walnut burl. The fingerboard and bridge are Texas Ebony. The inlay was done by Craig Lavin Top is Adirondack ![]() Craig's rose up close ![]() Walnut burl that we cut from a tree that grew in our Dad's back yard. SKJ initials for the work crew. Sorry Craig we could not fit an L in there. Tony finished the body All the woods are from the good old USA Thanks for looking. |

Nice ! I love walnut - hope I can make as pretty a guitar with it someday. So, what is Texas ebony? |

Thanks Jim Texas ebony is really one of the kinds of Mesquite that grow out there. This particular brand of mesquite is very hard, hence the common name. |

That's O.K. John/Steve. I planned on the rose being the center of attention anyway. I didn't think people were going to stare at the logo all THAT much..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It's a beauty guys. I am proud to be a part of that- L or not!! You know I hold a special place for all things Kinnaird. John- I have those two necks and a body coming back to you at some point. I have had to put others way in front of my own. I am heading into summer though, so I hope to get caught up. Hope you'll be ready! You guys rock! Craig L |

Wow, Brothers Kinaird!!! That is one fine looking all American guitar. I've been waiting until you finally unveiled it and I am not disapointed. I love that cool logo too. Congrats to you both and to Craig as well. Somebody has a fine new ax. |

Very, very nice! Walnut looks similar to a set of curly black walnut I got from Steve a few years back...it's a good bit darker/richer than most of my other black walnut sets. |

Thanks all I appreciate the kind words. Mattia it could very well be some of the same walnut you got from Steve. Bro, I sort of lifted the pics from Danny's site. I did not think he would mind since it has moved on. KBE |

Hey, many thanks fellas! Bob, it was a fun team of guys to work with for sure. And, dividing up the labor was a real plus. (Downside, though, is one also divides up the *slender* profits! ![]() Steve |

If there is anything better than a Kinnaird guitar (OK, there is, but for the sake of argument ![]() Now you've done the American guitar, how about and Australian, or European? Colin |

John and Steve, that is one truly lovely guitar. Great job. I'd love to do something like that with my brother but alas, he's a computer geek and couldn't tell a chisel from a band saw. I like Colin's idea of country/region themed guitars. I think I'm going to take that ball and run with it. I'm thinking Iceland. Lots of great native tonewoods in Iceland I'm told. |

Wow, what a jaw-dropper! The Kinnaird bros have done it again. Can you tell I'm a big fan? Gonna have to get down to Texas one of these day and at least visit one of you. ![]() |

You guys are too kind. Colin, I knew you would appreciate the fact that there was no burst. We are working on the no pearl thing, but we LIKE pearl and its a hard habit to break. Paul that is a pretty cool idea. I really would like to do an Australian guitar. What kind of top wood do they have there? Anything that's hard enough for a fingerboard or bridge. Dave you might as well come to North Carolina while you're in the car. JJ. Immodestly, it sounds great! Thanks guys |

Really????? Why is pearl on a guitar bad? ![]() This makes no sense at all. ![]() ![]() Craig. |
