Hey everyone

I did some experimenting with a friend yesterday. He's playing acoustic
and singing, I'm adding the electric. The lyrics have religous content, just
to forewarn. We set up and said, "so what should we play?" It's the song
he started strumming.

A few observations:
1) I'm not sure how to place things in the soundfield for this sort of
recording.
2) This is the Matchless Lightning clone I built last autumn.
3) Mic'd with an SM57 on the grill, pointed between the cone and speaker
rim. I had my ADK TC four feet in front, level with the speaker. The levels
are equal in the recording.
4) We did one pass of the acoustic, then vocal, then electric. I was going
to use it for an idea to come home to find some fuller parts but have just
decided to let it be. It's a bit rough on my side of things. I'm trying to
explore a more soundscape-esq type way of playing. You can hear my
oscillating delay come in and out with the guitar
5) Most importantly....the sound is true to what the amp sounds like!

Thanks, John -- is that Steve? That's definitely made for rock, lol. Very
cool. And thanks, Don!

yeah that's steve. Since it was my first real one he helped me set it up and
we went through dozens of caps to find the right ones.

I liked your song btw James.

Thanks, John, I really appreciate that coming from you. Are you still
looking into doing a lower wattage amp? There's a guy on another forum
doing a 5 watter called the Tiny Terror that looks pretty Vox-like.
