Todd Stock stopped by my shop this AM on the false pretense (
) of dropping off a book he thought I might like. What he
really wanted was to show me his latest:
a gorgeous dread, sitka over mahogany, herringbone purfling, and curly maple binding. He may have posted pics of the work in progress, but maybe we can convince him to post a few of the finished product!
It plays beautifully, has throaty, rich mids and a lovely, chimey top end. Fit and finish is top-notch, with flawless lacquer work.
A lot of very good guitars pass through my shop every week and, if I'm lucky, one or two will stand apart from the crowd.
I got lucky today.
Very fine work indeed, Todd. Congrats!
