This video clip of Tim Williams was posted on another forum. Sounds like a little ladder braced geetar to me. Whatever it is it sounds - and looks - fabulous.

Dave, Small is certainly beautiful, thanks for that Dave. I think we have really not advanced the art of guitar building very much since those 1920s/30s ladder braced guitars. Everything seems to have been sacrificed to the god of volume. One of my favourite players of all time, Jim Jackson, played a guitar not much bigger than a Uke and it does sound sweet! Thankfully great builders like John How (one of my heroes ) and yourself are bringing these lovely little guitars back to life.

That is the very style of guitar that Ian Anderson  (Jethro Tull) uses in his "Thick as a Brick" album. I have the DVD of one of his live concerts for that album and I am utterly amazed at the rich sound that guitar projects. For such a small instrument, it certainly deserves all the respect one can give it.

WHen I find out exactly what kind of guitar that is that he plays, I intend on building myself one.
