I'm sure most if not all of us have had a kind deed thrown are way by another member, but I felt compelled to comment.
I, like most of you have purchased quite a few things from OLF sponors and members, but I can't recall ever buying somthign where a little extra was tossed in. Maybe bindings, headplate, tail wedges etc. It sure makes buying a pleasant experience. Don't get me wrong, I don't excpect these things--its just really fun getting them. I always try to recipricate. Thats just one of the many things that makes this place so special.
Thanks to all for making this a fun place!

Yeah, the sponsors are pretty awesome. I've gotten a lot of help from them especially in the advice category.

Hesh, your Mr. 6000 now well done big mouth

I too have been on the recieving end of the generousity of many OLFer's, both past and present.

I got together with Shane last week and he brought some goodies that just blew me away. Thanks again Shane

I've only purchased minimal supplies and I have to say that I've always been blown away by the service and generousity of the sponsor's.

Uncle Bob "The Zootman" was most generous when I broke two sets of imbuia to find me a match for the back I had and send them to me. Thank you again Bob, you've helped me to succeed.

I won one of the OLF auctions once and the donor was so considerate that he felt the material he was sending was not up to snuff so he doubled the order. That blew me away the most. That's when I decided that I would "pay it forward" and always include a little extra if I send someone something.

Long live the OLF, the most friendly guitar makers forum on the net.

The chaps on this forum are extremely generous with both information, jigs and zoot.

I am naming no names here, but to say a heartfelt thankyou to all of you.

The advice and tips shared so freely here are priceless in their own right.
I've never seen a group of tradesmen, if you will, who were so willing to
share of their knowledge and experience.

I am grateful to be here amongst you all...so thanks to our members,
sponsors and our forum hierarchy for making this such a great place to
hang out.

I have been on the recieving end of much generosity here, and eslewhere in the luthierie community.
But needless to say the kindness, helping spirit, and generosity displayed by OLF members toward me... has really floored me!
A couple of recent experiences being, Hesh sending me his binding jig plans cost free, and also giving me a killer deal on his swap meet items (and then absolutely insisting on splitting the shipping?)
What a GUY!!
Also I recieved a beautiful set of tiger myrtle from Tim Spittle - (I have been meaning to post some pics and will soon)
and on top of being an absolute prince of a man in our dealings, throughout the purchase and shipping process, I was more than pleasantly surprised to find not only extra material for a tiger myrtle headplate and tail wedge, but also tiger myrtle bindings! Thanks Tim!!!
Same with Mr Cefalu when I recieved my black limba set, enclosed was extra material for headplate etc
Thanks Bob!
This pervading atmospshere of helpfulness and giving has inspired me to try and do what I can also
& I really cant wait to be in more of a position to pay it forward, when I am more of an experienced builder and some young pup is starting out, that I can help in some way
Thanks guys, each and every one....
Cheers

PS
I have already mentioned this also but I would feel badly if I did not also mention My ToddStock
TS created a thread, offering up his combo sander...
I PMed him, and he not only gave me his combo sander free, but then wouldnt accept any money for shipping - Wow what an amazing guy...
his kind spirit is also evident in his helping young guys just starting out, to create thier first instruments...
Thanks Todd!
Then there is Serge - who is sorely missed by all here at the OLF - Sharebear helped me immensely, and shared openly, encouraged and inspired me
come back big guy...
There are countless exmaples of the top notch community that the OLF is, in evidence every day... thanks everyone once again..
Cheers

I gotta concur.

The info and advice is amazing and offered (and corrected) with humour, friendliness and maturity.

in the past year thanks to this forum I've got a free set of Granadillo, a set of bass bridge pins, some spalted maple for rosettes, some cherry wood and as I type, another member is making up a parcel of wood for me too.

My next build IS a pay it forward project. I don't know who the recipient will be yet, but I have 6 or 7 pastors thinking and praying about nominations for a young worship leader who deserves a decent guitar.

and if you haven't seen the movie "pay it forward", go rent it this weekend. it'll make the world a better place!!

keep it up gang, you are all wonderful

I have purchased from many OLF sponsors. They have all been first rate.
Especially the "one man" shows!!!!!
Shane, Bob C, Brad G, John H, Jim W, Steve, Tracy, The Don etc
They are the best!!!!
