Hi All,

Haven't been here much lately, so I apologize for that.

I'm going to buy some 24" diameter adhesive backed sand paper for my radius dishes. Our local tool supply company has 80, 100 & 120 grit. I'm thinking of buying the 100 grit but I'd like to here what you guys are using.

Thanks,
Kirt

100 is an all round good grit. rough enough to quickly sand rims and brace contours and still leave a decent glue surface.

Thanks, Michael & Hesh.

That's good to HEAR. Guess I should have spell checked.

I'm thinking I can get away with a slightly rougher glue joint, because I'll come back and reglue a good share of it with the bindings. So maybe I'll go with the 80 grit, should last longer too. I can always smooth things up a little once I get the contour right.

Cheers,
Kirt

I use and sell 80 grit. A friend of mine who has just completed guitar 1000, uses like 60 grit! So I personally think that 80 grit will keep you happy!

I use 80 grit... it gets the job done rather quickly but doesnt give too rough of a surface to glue to.

I find 80 grit to be about as good as you can use.

Todd and Hesh...no worries, I wasn't trying to advertise here, just lend my experience. John and Tracy are great vendors and deserve all of the business they get (and more!). I agree with John...80 seems the best of the options for me as well.
