Does lacquer retarder go out of date? I have some Mcfaddens retarder that I've had for a few years. It had been stored in it's original container. When I opened it the other day and poured some in a jar I noticed it has a dark golden color. It used to be clear as water. Can it be used? |

Sounds like flirting with disaster. My guess is it has dissolved the lining in the can or the solder. You would be running a big risk that you'd have to strip the guitar and start over. In my opinion, you could buy fresh retarder of any brand and use it with McFadden's. |
