I just finished this one...Braz. with paua abalone.
I liked Steve Kinnaireds rosette so much I asked his permission to do a similar one.The next one I think I'll use teflon strips or maybe CA. This was a little difficult using titebond. Thanks Steve !

Looks very nice Dave!

Where are you getting your paua strips cut so thinly or are you hand cutting
them? They look very nice.

Dave! You made it look easy! Well done, and *ahem* quite attractive. Now, you know you need to use the same abalone treatment around the top to match that pretty rosette. Right?

Well, I was thinkin' about that Steve,But I think I'm going to use a strip of matching rw. for the top purf.this time. Thanks for the kind words but your rosettes are far,far prettier than this one IMHO.

Dave, nice job! I attempt to plagarize Steve's work all the time -- looks like you succeeded!

Dave, re reading my post I think I may have offended you and I owe you an apology. Another example of why I wish we still had our EDIT button.

I was trying to pay you a compliment -- I try to plagariarze Steve's work all the time -- looks like you succeeded.

My sincerest apologies

Can I have my EDIT button back, pretty please!

Actually, Dave, the more I study your pic, the more I think you need to enlarge the sound hole.

Really Steve ? I was going to use a sound port on the side. I thought that would be enough! I'm not really a fan of those enlarged sound holes. But then again ,it would be hard to see my label!

Yeah, I hear ya Dave. Those big gaping maws DO let in a lot of dust and who knows what else.

But on a design note, if you stay with the 1/4" sound hole, in the future scale your rings down to 1/2" inner diameter....

No, don't. That would be the perfect place to add your logo. I mean, it does give you more room than the peghead does. You might even want to plug the sound hole as part of the design.

Your call if I'm serious or not.
