Ha and you thought I had a preview guitar to post

I know there are a number of you folks working your buns off getting guitars ready for the Healdsburg and Montreal Guitar shows.

Any chance you could share a preview for those of us who won't be in attendance?

Pretty please

I should have a report from the "white room" in a few days. I dropped of one of mine last Saturday to Tony and will be taking him another in two weeks.

Yeah, I'm with Anthony, previews would be great especially for those of us a little too far away to attend and see these beauties in person.

Cheers

Jim, I feel your pain. I just strung up my first one last night, that we are calling "The Diamond". Should have two more done by the end of the week. No time for pics .. yet

Lance, are you going to HB or Montreal or both?

FWIW, they had a couple of last minute cancellations for the Montreal Guitar Show. If anyone is interested please send me an email and I will pass your name along.

I know it ain't big like the Healdsburg festival, but I'm in full panic mode finishing five new guitars for the Comox Valley Music Festival on Vancouver Island.
I was pretty much on schedule 'till I heard a resounding crash from the dry room... I didn't want to look, but when I opened the door, there was my pretty little Koa parlour guitar laying on the floor with a shattered neck!
Miraculously, the body was undamaged. I was able to get the inlay out of the peghead & re-use it & the fingerboard was fine. Still, it slowed me down some & my relaxed schedule was out the window.
If all goes without a hitch, I'll be fine... but how often does that happen????
Best wishes to all of you who are taking the plunge. It takes some courage to put yourself out there to be judged side by side with the "Big Boys".
Ok... enough of this. Get back to the shop Dan!

Good Luck Y'all!

Well, as of Monday afternoon, I'M DONE!!!
Two archtops and three flattops (and a forth will go to Healdsburg but not Montreal). In a week or so, I'll revisit them and dot the "t's" and cross the "i's" but for now I'm resting easy. (Yeah, right, I'm actually painting the house)
I wish you all well. Don't stress too much. Remember, if it's a matter of relaxing and bringing 3 or stressing like crazy and bring 4, go with the 3. Nobody will ever remember if you had 3 or 4 and the chances of screwing it up under pressure are pretty good. DAMHIKT!

Who cancelled?

They should add Laskin and Beneteau...

Hi Warren,
I am not privy to that info. They just sent us an email last week stating they had a couple of cancellations.

Phew, I now have two strung up. Woolson, I just know you're cheating ... somehow! Food fight >>>>

These have been posted in another thread, but here are a couple of shots of the bodys of some of the guitars that I will bring to the MMMIS (www.mmmis.ca) which takes place in Montreal from July 5 to July 8.  This may be viewed as a consumer show in the general musical instrument (at large) industry.

I am right on target as far as timing is concerned!

What, huh, Oh %*#^%@!!!!!, it's already the end of June!!!!
Actually I may have bit off a little more than I can chew this year. I have 7 guitars that I'm trying to get ready. They probably won't all make it to the show but they'll be going somewhere about that time.
Sorry I haven't had time to get the camera in the shop. Maybe next week.

Here's one in the white bound for Healdsburg.  One more to build starting Monday!  Ahhhhhhh!

Engelmann/BRW with Leoparwood binding.  The 3 way miters on the cutaway were actually kinda fun, in a sick sort of way.

This is an access port in the butt.

This will be my first trip to the festival and I'm really looking forward to it!  Hope to meet some of you folks there.

Kent--great looking miters!
Whew, that guitar is going to look rich under finish.
Please post more pics when it's done.

Hey Kent,

Very nice guitar.....you are definitely a "sick man" to even consider those miters as fun! She is going to look fabulous under finish, please let us know how it sounds.

Cheers,
Greg

Hello all,

I have 2 strung up and hope to put strings on the 3rd one tommorow. These are the 3 that I plan to bring to Montreal. I also plan to bring a couple of these to the HGF but I got a couple more in the works. I am not sure if they will get done or not as something has come up that has shifted priorities in a major way

I thought I would drop in a couple of shots of something I stung up earlier last week. It still needs quite a bit of set-up, but I just wanted to get it under tension for a few days first.

Here are a few shots:

In this next shot you can see the diamond volute that I am now including as a standard feature along with the rear headstock veneer. It is similar to what James Olson does on his headstocks, and I spoke with him before I started to offer that feature. James does most often run a purlfling around there too, an element I may offer later. Thanks James for your great guitars, help and inspiration.

I also strung up an OM last week that is very similar in appointments to the above 000-12. I hope to have some shots of that one soon.

Thanks for lookin'
