the saddle looks a little square on the corners, I'd want to round that a little, bit your finishing looks excellent |

How does the pin bridge work on a uke? What's on the end of the strings under there? |

Good suggestion on rounding the saddle. It needs to be lowered a bit as well as the action is high. The pins work great - I have a small bead on the end with knot holding it on. On the C string I melted the end into a ball. I have a bit more confidence now working on my second. Thanks for the encouragement! |

Very well done Ricardo! Did you take a class at Hana Lima? Hana Lima 'Ia is a school for ukulele making located in Honolulu. Michael Chock teaches the class and his son, Asa (also a luthier) handles the retail end of the business. |

No I didn't take a class, but I highly recommend their manual. Its full of good tips and jigs that will help a lot. They also have a forum that provides help as you build. |

Ricardo, That is fantastic! Great job! The little uke I just finished was a concert size and I bought my ebony fretboard from Hanalima.com and it was already slotted. They are great to buy from and you get really good customer service from them. By the way, what size uke is it? Is it a low G tuning? If so, do you have an angle on that saddle? Can't tell from the pics. I love these little uke's, easy to build and fun to play! I need to build one for myself next. Tracy |

Tracy, its a Tenor uke with low G tuning. Hanalima sells a bridge slanted (compensated) for it. Thanks Rich |
