I shifted this from Slackkeymikes thread.

The prize for guessing what wood is on the jig is a highly figured Gidgee bridge blank.

And I got generous in my trip from the other thread so I'll chuck in a highly figured Jarrah bridge blank as well.

And I'm barring all the Aussies from this 'cause we've got Gidgee and Jarrah growing in our front yards.

Here's the pic. First post up with the correct answer wins the $64,000 bridge blanks transported free to anywhere on the planet.

And if anyone is wondering what Gidgee is here's a pic of what the blank was cut from.

Info
Gidgee weight 1250 Kg/m3 hardness 19/20
Ebony weight 820 Kg/m3   hardness 9.5/20
Jarrah weight 820 Kg/m3   hardness 9.5/20
(Figures courtesy Tim Spittles website.)

Have fun.

Cheers

No, not Tassie Blackwood.

I was born and grew up in Hobart. We used to burn that stuff on the fire.

Well, it's brown, so that's a dead giveaway right there.

I'm going to guess Jarrah.
How about River Red Gum?
Let it rain, let it pour,
Let it rain a whole lot more,
'Cause I got them Red Gum river blues.

No. Sorry.

It's a trick, there's no wood, just a silicone heating blanket. I'll PM you my address so you can send the prize right away.
