I'm looking to buy some wood for a Weissenborn I'm about to start building. Can anyone out there who has built with this wood or played a guitar made from this wood, care to share their opinions of the sonic qualities of Yellow Siris? I read that It's a light, soft and oily wood. Being oily is probably not a problem, but being soft and light, will that effect sustain? I know alot of different factors help to determine the sound of a guitar, I just want an idea of what this particular wood would sound like. It sure is a nice looking wood, and the price is right. Thanks in advance for sharing your opinions. |
