I'm building an OLF SJ with some Granadillo from Hibdon. Here are some progress pics, along with a few comments.
First, some thoughts on Granadillo. I think it's a great looking wood, and it bends like a dream. Sounds nice to tap so far. Very stiff and strong. But here's the negative. It's a nightmare to sand. It's the most difficult wood I've ever run through the drum sander (including Cocobolo), and I burned through two strips of 60 grit on the drum sander just on the sides (I pushed it too hard.) I still need to thickness the back, and I'm not looking forward to that part. It's also very splintery, so be careful with your fingers. Overall, I like the wood a lot, but I wish it were easier on the sandpaper. That's not a huge knock on a wood that, in all other ways, seems great so far.

This is my first attempt at an armrest. Although my motivation/inspiration is thanks to Tony's recent tutorial, I have modified his approach and some others I have seen in order to tackle all this in a slightly different way, which will be more apparent when the armrest is complete.
Here's some shots of the armrest progress, which I hope will give some ideas to those thinking about tackling an armrest.
