Yeah, but did you get all of your questions answered ;)

Here's a tid bit - Pick up a cheapo stryrofoam mini cooler and pak some water/ice. The days are long and it is tough on the throat talking with like a bazillion people.

Plan a drive up the coast (1/2 hour to Muir Woods) to see the giant redwoods. It will make you feel really small in the grand scheme of things.

See y'all in a couple of weeks.

yeah, sounds like a plan to me Lance.

John, thanks for the invite, that would also be awesome to hook up with you, but I`m not sure we`ll have enough time. We will be getting into santa rosa sometime in the afternoon, so we will only have a few hours to sight see, if we are lucky.

got your cell # just in case we can....

Hey... we should start a club...

Does everyone struggle with this?

How is Calton to work with? Any body have any experience?

They are great as long as you don't mind waiting 6 MONTHS for a case!

I just bought a truckload of Guardian fiberglass cases. Darn near the quality of a Calton at 1/5 the price. If you buy 16 cases you get free shipping which is a huge savings. They are only available in dred sizes but we modified the interiors to fit my small bodies. Crushed black velvet interiors, leather handles, 6 latches, 3 point back pack or shoulder strap system. Best bang for the buck that I have found. We searched every case maker at NAMM and these were the cream of the crop for the price IMHO.

Tim,
How do you modify the inside?

We purchassed the smae black crushed velvet material at the local fabric store along with fabric glue and foam rubber. We cut rectangular pieces of foam rubber to take up the gaps between the body and existing case padding. We covered the foam with matching material, kind of like wrapping Christmas presents and allowed the glue to dry over night. I marked the new foam block locations with masking tape, where the blocks go, added fabric glue to the back of the blocks and glued the blocks to the existing crushed velvet case inner padding. Put the guitar in the case, which acts as clamps, and allowed the glue to dry over night. It looks like a custom fit case and the guitar fits tightly with no movement.

The cases sell wholesale for about $105.00 ish from "The Music Link". Free shipping if you buy 16. I am VERY happy with the quality of the cases! I will have them at HB if anyone wants to check them out.

Brock, most of the guitars makers I know here in my area seem to be having trouble getting cases. Of course the guys headed to Healsdurg and the other shows this year seem to have increased the demand at least that's what I've been told by the casemaker in question. I've been told that my cases will ship in just a few days so I do have hope.

I got mine WAY ahead of the rush. I had them in my hands in March. But these guys need to start expecting a rush in the summer months for luthiers going to shows. Maybe staff up with temp help to get them through.
Brock. I just placed an order with Calton. They are 6 months out.
