I have a few boards of figured Madagascar Rosewood that unfortunately are too small for a guitar. Its a shame to waste as it has some real nice spider webbing on the backs! ![]() I may be listinging it at the Luthiers Forum for Ukulele sets. I don't know if they are big enough for ukes or what model of uke it would fit. The backs are 4" x 15" each and the sides are 20" x 4" each and all about .105 to .110 thick. Please let me know what you think. The backs are a lot more figured than the sides.... Here are some back pics: ![]() ![]() |

Beautiful wood... it will make a fine Uke. I happen to love Madrose myself. Put an adi top on that! |

I think that as a set they would be appropiate for a soprano or concert sized uke. The limiting factor is the width of the back pieces. The next size up, tenor, has a body width over 8". |

For reference, this is a screen shot of part of a spreadsheet I made to help me sort out tonewood set size requirements for various instruments. ![]() |

Very beautiful wood! Looks like a set for a soprano uke. |

ideal size for a soprano set. You could probably get $40 per set. A concert size uke would depend on the makers concert size. |
