I finally have gotten enough jigs and tools built to actually start my first build. Yesterday I cut enough quartered spalted sycamore to screw up several times. Insead, I will hopefully end up with a couple closed boxes in a couple of weeks.

Christian, I am going to try for lacewood bordered by black walnut. We'll see how it goes. Here is my backstrip..  It doesn't look as good in the photo as in person. I just hope the black walnut darkens up (as it should) with the finish. chris |
