I know you're relieved that it went well.
I have never used it. I once had someone ask me to build them a guitar with a venetian cutaway from Brazilian rosewood, I turned them down.

Hey Hesh, it's only money. What'cha worried about. THe Braziliaan I've bent was pretty easy but I know what you mean. There is almost something kinda sacred about it. |

I'm right there with you, Hesh. I started thinning my first BRW sides a few weeks ago and I've already had to repair two cracks. I 'm pretty sure it's a stabilization issue but now I'm getting nervous about bending them. Funny thing is my approach was the opposite of yours... I wasn't worried about it in the least, I figured it would be like bending EIR. Now I find myself putting if off, working on other stuff. I guess I'll take some inspiration from you and press on.

Good job Hesh! I sure appreciate your concern but you did great. Just goes to show "nothin' to worry about, but alot to think about". I am embarassed to say that I saw the first pic and thought that is mighty bland looking wood.  Then it hit me that it was still wrapped. I am a dork.  Kind of looked like a side made of MDF!

I'm glad it came out good for you Hesh. I read in "Claptons Guitar" that Wayne H. Boils his braz. for a while.I have never bent braz. yet. Did you soak it before bending ? |

I am amazed there is so little spring back. I must be doing something wrong when I bend koa. I get a lot of spring back even if I leave it in the bender overnight. I don't cover it when bending so I can spritz it to keep it moist. |

I'm pretty sure that Larry the Cable Guy plays a guitar made out of either particle board or MDF... not sure which but it is one or the other. I'm interestedint he spray on helper too. I have a cut away coming soon that is going to need all the help I can get bending it without breaking. |
