Okay 'lectric builders...how to remove the tailpiece studs from a solid body? Any tricks? I'm thinking a hollowed out dowel or something over the stud and the bolt thru a big flat washer and let the threads pull it out? |

Long bolt which fits the stud, with a head, and open a heavy-ended adjustable wrench enough to get over the shaft of the bolt but not the head and then tap it out that way. Nothing bearing against the body but your hand. That's how I pull the steel pins out of some of my fixtures when they're really stuck. |

Funny enough, I have been thinking about that issue. I was thinking about making up something like this (but to pull the hardware obviously): and to protect the finish I was thinking about gluing cork or felt on a scraper and drilling a hole through it. So the tool would push against the metal. |
