I just spoke to Terry Hazleton of Cedar Creek Cases to remind him that we will eventually be sending him dimensions for the project that seems to be missing in action. He agrees that we should only send the dimensions once the neck and body are in the same location and can actually be measured. Soooo, I was just wondering when that might occur. Remember, this is a custom case and it takes 8-10 weeks to build. Another question I had...where should the case be shipped? |

JJ, I think it's at Paul Woolson's Shop ready for binding. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just about to build another of those to take to Healdsburg and will be ordering a case from Cedar Creek as well. Unfortunately my son has the last one I made (in a clasical case that doesn't quite fit) so I can't take measurements from it right now. Anyway that OLF guitar might have to be the 2nd aniversary guitar.

JJ, it is indeed in my shop but not ready for binding. We had a big problem that we were debating whether or not to try to repair. We determined that due to extremes in climate changes in shipping, the top cracked. I had it in a plastic bag with sponges trying to close it but I couldn't get it to where I was satisfied. The decision was made to replace the top. Brock is working on the rosette and then Matt will get it for bracing. It will then come to me where I will attach the top and bind it. I figure attaching the top in my shop is safest as it will have one less trip to 40,000 ft and no humidity. That's the story. Paul |

This same thing or something similar happened to the 13th fret guitar, I remember Alan Dunwell was the first guy to brace the guitar, after Kathy Wingert inlaid the rosette, then somewhere along the line the top cracked. Lance McCullum re-braced a new top, and somebody extracted the rosette and reused it. Guess what im trying to say, is that these things happen.. Even still, I thank you all for your persistence in moving on with this project.. |

Such are the hazards of a project like this. It's probably bad enough to ship a completly finished guitar in those conditions much less one that has no finish protection. |

The 13th Fret top got crushed. And like Forest Gump said, "Stuff Happens." What makes me proud is the great concern each person involved has shown in turning out a quality product. Nothing but the best for our buddy, Lance, right guys! So, Tim, now you know, just get out an old tee-shirt and give those Waverly's a good shining. And Lance, I'm not sure but you may be getting Carpathian now??? Brock? Paul, Hold on to that cracked top, we may want to mail it around to everyone who contributed and get their signatures and hang that on Lance's shop wall in a frame. |

Yes. Carpathian (great stuff btw). I have the top joined, rosette built, and I will install it over the weekend and level it. I should have it ready to ship to the next person by early next week. |

Im ready and waiting can turn it out in a day or two. I am using a carp top and carp brace wood on this EI Rosewood OM that im working on. I have plenty of carp bracewood for the OLF guitar, I cant wait to hear how it sounds. Matt

I can't hog off a lot of material at once or the conveyer stalls, but if I take light cuts I have been making it work. Thanks though.... I am sure you will see me soon though... I am constantly in need of something... :-) |

It is new inlay. We decided that we probably couldn't save it because soaking it in acetone to get the CA to release would likely delaminate the ablam as well. |
