im in the middle of my 2nd build. 1st from scratch sort of ( pre made neck and fingerboard). my top is carpathian, b&s is eir. i have my top thichnessed to .110 and the body style is a dread. i was using my stewmac dread plans for brace sizing but on the blueprint it only shows how wide the x braces are. how tall do you guys make your x braces? or could someone recommend brace sizes for me knowing what top and thichness im at? |

For just your second guitar, I'd go with 9/16" high by 5/16" wide. Shape them the same as the stew mac plan or maybe just a hair under that and your guitar will sound.....well.....like a guitar. A good one at that presuming everything else in the system is as it should be. |
