Help Please... I have scoured the archives and searched through the sponsers' sites and have been unable to locate radius templates. I could swear I saw sets for sale on someone's site out there, but cannot remember where and my search has come up short. If anyone knows where to get a nice cnc cut radius template please let me know. thanks, chris

They are easy to make. A stick, a nail, a bandsaw and a sander. Make an arc with a pencil, notch the stick to hold the lead of the pencil. The nail makes a pivot point. Cut, sand, and you have it. I did this very thing making a bass neck recently. I agree a cnc is probably much more accurate. I remember John O sharing a router setup which allowed it to pivot while pulling a 2by4 through the bottom. He was making his own neck radius sanding blocks. Very cool process. Probably kin to making radius dishes, kind of messy.

Its worth it not to go through that pain and emabarrassment again. This normally wouldn't be a problem, but my OSS is down right now with no time to fix it. thanks, chris

Speaking of radius jigs, is anyone planning on building Craid Holden's fretboard jig now that he's not doing it anymore? I bought the plans from him, but it would be so much easier to pay someone else to make it ;)

Not a jig exactly, but like Bruce said they are easy to make. I drew these up a while ago and they can be printed at kinkos or on your own computer (if you have Adobe Pro that is). I figured that you could trace or glue it right down to whatever material you want and it is basically disposable (not much $ into it anyway). These at least take some of the guess work out of it if you do want to cut your own. If you want the whole lot PM me. This is obviously scaled way down... I have 12", 24", 12', 15', 20', 25', 28' and 30' - Luthiers Supply has any radius you want though too - and it's done with CNC so you know it's accurate and it shows up on your doorstep.

You don't need Adobe Pro to print those. They'll print fine out of the Adobe Reader.
