Here's my second L-00. This was my first attempt at both a sound port and a sunburst. The top is thinned to .095 and the bracing adapted for light gauge strings. I hope it holds together, because it's easily the best sounding guitar I've built. The sound port seems to add a little bass, or at least make a small body "sound" bigger. This one still needs a final setup, but I can't wait to start the next one. Sitka top EIR - Allied Koa bindings Sapele neck - LMI Bracewood, Purfling and bridge blank - Shane Shell from Depaulle Tuners from Peter's group purchase Headtock back strap is myrtle burl tinted with the sunburst toner Misc from the usual suspects Thanks for looking. I've played this guitar, and it's exquisite. Bob is a remarkable craftsman, and his eye for detail takes a backseat to nobody. Good to see you post this Bob. Give me a shout sometime, and let's grab a bite to eat on a weekend. Bill |

Thanks Hesh, I agree it's a very comfortable shape, but I've always liked smaller bodied guitars. Try a drink holder on your next one, it really makes a difference. Bill, I'd like to get together sometime, how about sometime next month? And thanks again for the red spruce set, the wheels are already turning on that one... (Bill likes adult sized guitars and this set barely fit an L00). Bob |

I like it! Looks great. I never would have guessed that's the first burst you've done. Fantastic job all around. |

Bob, that really looks great. I can't believe I missed the opportunity to see it at the MAGI meeting. Wow! Did you do the finish, or send it out? Whoever did it, it looks nice. Great guitar all around. |

Wacko! what a cracker Bob, besides the green plastic pick you got hanging out the side of the neck, this one looks like a brand new 87 year old guitar What a fantastic burst and the sides look like old school BRW. With the top @ .95 and being braced to the edge, I am sure she has a presence that completely defies her size. Beautiful work Cheers Kim |

Thanks again for the positive comments. Waddy, yeah you missed it. But I'll be happy to bring it around the next time MAGI get together. I did the burst with a Preval sprayer and Transtint colors in lacquer. I'm really happy with the results, and if I can do it anyone can. Folks, don't be afraid to try stuff. You'd be surprised at what you can accomplish. Have a plan B, just in case, and go for it. Happy building, Bob |
