Its been a while since I posted--I'm going in for knee surgery and thougth I'd take some pics before I'm off my feet for a few days. This is a lightly quilted mohogany back/sides with a Sitka top, herringbone rosette and top purf, EIR w/b/w binding, Koa and black back purf. One piece hog bolt on neck, EIR headplate, ebony fingerboard with Martin style gold lip pearl diamonds & squares, Ebony Martin style bridge. Gold LMI fret wire, gold Grover Sta-tites. She still needs alot of scraping and sanding, but I'm very please the way she came together--no real issues on this build. It's braced very lightly, and I've been playing with a new bracing pattern si it will be interesting to see how she sounds. I'm guessing it will be a very well balanced mid rangy type sound, but we'll see--I was going for the vintage look with a more traditional type sound. Hope you like it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thansk for the kind words guys--my knee surgery turned out GREAT! I've had no pain whatsoever so far--I'm limping to the shop to knock on some pretty wood. |

Fine looking dread. Here's a question for those who use herringbone: Should the h'bone around the rosette point clockwise, as does yours, or should it run counter-clockwise? I've seen it both ways (and I really don't care if there is a proper way), but I like your solution best. Steve |

Steve, I copied a Martin--the HB purf also ran from bottom to top with the arrows going towards the upper bout an each side. The rosette also ran clockwise on all guitars I could find in my Martin history book |
