Had a day in the garden planned but it rained and I ended up with an unplanned day in the workshop. Here's a few pics of my top glueup jig in action. The top is a AAA Lutz Spruce top from you know who. The rope used on the jig is macrame rope from my local dressmaking store. The jig is based on one I saw used by Paddy Burgin and Dave Freeman on one of their New Zealand guitar making courses. |

I don't see any wax paper to keep the wedges from being glued to the top. |

Looks great, I too hope there is some wax paper in there somewhere. Greg |

Maybe, just maybe, they are either waxed well, taped or finished on the bottom side. |

Oh, and good work Martin, tis good to see a little tradition right down to the twine. Cheers Kim |

Or, maybe, this is a new way to join tops and glue braces on at the same time. A real time saver. |

I used to do it just the same with the wedges and twine, but find it much easier and quicker to just use the tent method. But it is good to see tradition still has a place. The only worrying thing in the whole post is that the string came from "my local dressmaking shop".! Colin |
