YES finally strung up and making music. This is easily the best sounding guitar I have ever made, it is very powerful for its size and the sound is hard to explain, its complex, yet not muddy with overtones. I am very happy with this one.

Just for the record,
Cocobolo back and sides, Carter TB Redwood top, brazilian bindings, fretboard and bridge with b/w/b top and side purfs.

Thanks for looking! See you in Cali!

Another beauty Lance, your gonna knock'em dead at HGF with that duo. I bet Brock is regretting ever trading that coco, what do you say Brock?

Lance, what would you say the finished thickness is of the redwood top on this guitar?? I know that essentially it really does depend on the soundboard at hand, but because you seem to work with redwood quite a lot, do you find that you finish up with much variation in thickness from one top to the next?? Or does redwood tend to have have a comfortable medium where it seems about right? If so, please do tell.

Cheers

Kim

Lance, this is my favorite guitar you've posted, ever.
I like everything about it.
Well, except that it says "Kragenbrink" on the head,
and not "Kinnaird".
Man, I wish I'd built that beauty.

Best of luck to you at H'burgh!

Steve

This is the most beautiful guitar that I have ever seen. The Cocobolo is outstanding and the redwood top just matches it perfectly.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone!

The top thickness is prob around .100 after it was all said and done. That said I would NOT recommend just sanding to that thickness. It is really all dependant on the individual top. The redwood I have verys from super floppy to stiffer than adirondack, so obviously you have to treat each one differently. The bracing is adirondack, 1/4" X .600 tall, scalloped X with one tone bar and one finger brace one each side.

Here it is just placed for a picture, but you can get the idea of the bracing pattern. Fairly minimal id think. I have to say though, this guitar resonates in your arms like crazy. It really rumbles! If any of you come to HGF, id love to get your impressions of this one.

I got to agree with Tony, that Coco is just amazingly beautiful. And the whole instrument just glows. Cool.
