I hesitate to post this, but I need to ask.  Is there something going on with AC Woods that would cause problems with orders?  I placed an order over the weekend and other than the automatic e-mail I got immediately after submitting the order, I have gotten no further contact from them.  I have tried e-mailing them several times with no response and now I tried to click on their site and it is down.  I specifically chose them to order some stuff through because they are a sponsor and I am surprised at this.  Do they shut down and go to the HGF for the week?

Again, I hesitated to post this because I don't want to hurt their reputation but I would like to know if there is something going on that I don't know about.  If necessary I will place a duplicate order with another sponsor and cancel the AC Woods order but I don't want to do that unless I have to.

I sure haven't heard anything.  I bought a Red Cedar top from them earlier this year, no problems.  I couldn't get to their site either.  I can't remember who the contact is, but if we can find out, you could PM them. Surely someone knows.

Ed Dicks may be hauling it down the highway toward Healdsburg with a wood-laden pick-em-up truck? Let us know if you see him there?

I had a guy from Australia who wanted to buy some K and K pickups. Unfortunately, though, he had an old email address and I didn't find it until way late.

I rarely check my old cswnet account, don't know why it's still active. K and K has my web address so I don't know where he got that old addy.

In your case, I'm betting he's just out. Like Shane had to be out a few weeks back. Sometimes you just gotta go to the Bahamas or to the woods..... ay?

David don't worry at all. Ed is a good man and I'm sure he will contact you. May be server problems.

Did you try giving Ed a call? If he is anything like me, it is a VERY busy time and we do get quite behind. No excuses but small businesses run on short staff during growth. I recently regrettably had an order cancel because it took me too long. I don't feel to good about that happening, especially when only a year ago I could have packages out the next day. It just doesn't seem to be happening much like that lately. I shouldn't have went to GAL last year.....been behind ever since!

Anyway, phone and leave a message and hopefully he can get back to you. Thanks for continuing to support those of us (Like Ed) that hunt down and process this wood for you guys! You don't really want to know the work involved in just getting the wood to the shop, let alone processing it after that!

The best set of wood I have in my stash is from Ed. He was great to deal with and entirely above board. I'll have the nerve to use this set (killer BRW) in another 5 years or so.

Thanks for the responses.  I knew he was above board, that was never in question.  I was just curious if something happened that I didn't know about causing him to get behind. (IE: Illness, accident, etc.)  I am just antsy to get some soundboards I ordered for two builds that will be Christmas gifts.  When it comes to building two guitars, Christmas is right around the corner!

I just receive a lovely package from AC Woods last week and had talked to Ed just before receiving it. Give him a call; he's easy to talk to. Excellent customer service!

For me, for two guitars, that would be Christmas 2008

I'm only half way done with a guitar that should have been done for Christmas last year. It then turned into a Birthday gift and then to a Fathers Day gift. The guitar has now come full circle and I will need to work hard to make it for this next Christmas. Oh well, no space, no time, no tools, and no skills makes for slow going.

David, just to reassure you further, I recently received a package from Ed. It was my first order, and I didn't know what to expect. He had to send it post, as he said he'd been having trouble with UPS.
Anyway, it got here fine, and the wood was unbelievably beautiful.

Hang in there,

Steve

Just got an e-mail from Ed appologizing for the delayed response.  They have been having problems with their e-mail and web server which is totally understandable.  My package went out Monday.
