I guess since you all build guitars for a living, this might be a good place to post this.
I'm having a custom OM being built by Hank Mauel and am really excited about it. However, when all is said and done, the price tag will be about $5000. Now, I'm in the market for a short-scale dreadnaught with an Adi top and EIR back and sides. However, I don't want to spend an arm and a leg because I'm only a lowly government worker (I could tell you what I do, but then I'd have to shoot you - :) ). Anyway, this guitar will be a work horse for me, and be my main gigging guitar.
I'm looking at a price tag for around $3000 (gulp) and to have it done by March of next year. I know some of you guys are out of my ballpark. If I could afford another 4 or 5 K guitar, I surely would, but unfortunately, my budget won't allow that.
