Hello Everyone,

Throwing up a few pictures of a Honduran Rosewood/Lutz guitar with 1 coat of epoxy on it, not the most exciting wood in the world, but I think she looks pretty fair for a modest girl.

It looks good and while Honduras Rosewood is never as wild grained as other woods, it is one of the few woods that can stand up against Brazilian Rosewood for tone. I like it alot. There was a time in the 60's in Spain when the only wood that was acceptable as a substitute for Brazilian Rosewood was Honduras Rosewood.

I think that with the combination of Lutz Spruce and Honduras Rosewood, it wil sound great.

The simple elegant binding really works.

That's looking great!

I'm not sure why someone would look at that wood and not think it's beautiful! I love the stuff. It's one of my all-time favorites, right up there with Brazilian, Ziricote, and Acacia.

Hey thanks everyone, I certainly love this wood, I think it is beautiful, and yes Hesh it is nice to finish too. I did incorporate a bloodwood purfling on the top and bottom of the ebony binding, as well as bordering the tail piece, it's just very hard to see in the pictures, looks nice in person though. Oh, by the way, tapping on this box leaves me with the impression that it will be my best sounding guitar to date, it is loud, vibrant, and begging for strings

i suppose i feel the same way about hon rosewood as everyone else, it is a bit plain. but dude, that is a great looking guitar! ill echo what the others said, the black binding just goes great.

Wow Hesh, I love the Koa bindings, maybe I'll cut these off and start over....No, I won't do that, but I'll remember the Koa for the next one....Oh yeah, that Honduran Rosewood looks sweeeeet!!

Thanks Steve, that's a Madagascar Rosewood tail piece that I cut with a home-made jig, I can alter the fluting from really wide to very narrow as seen on this guitar, or make them nearly even if that look is called for....the top is in it's ugly duckling stage right now, I'll get some good shots down the line a bit.
