For those of you who use Dynabrade equipment for finish sanding, could you give me some idea of how well you like the product, model numbers, etc.

It's my understanding that some people use this kind of equipment for wet sanding their guitars, and I'd like a little more information on how they do it, which models they use, etc.

Thanks.

I don't know model numbers, but we've been using the 5" random orbital sanders for years now, and they are great. They last forever, sand fast, and are a true standard of the industry.

Yeah, interesting subject Bill.
To add to that, I once saw some plastic-film based sanding papers that looked interesting. Any recommendations on that stuff?
Thanks...

I've got 2 of the 5" random orbits. One is 1/16" orbit and the other 3/32".
Both are great and essential tools in my shop. I highly reccomend the
dustless model(s). Also note that the pads come in different "firmness". I use
the medium.
The sander model #'s 59020 (1/16") and 59035 (3/32"). These are the non-
vac models. I added the vac system to them. I belive the sanders also have
the trade name "spirit".
As with any air tool- be sure your compressor is adequate. Mine is 5hp.

when I built bicycle frames at Trek, we used the Dynabrade hand held belt sanders. I always wanted one of those, they are just amazing. Not so useful on guitars, maybe for necks.
