My copy came today and I'll admit I was thinking emailing them to ask if I could return it within ten minutes. The packaging is the best packaging I've ever seen on a DVD, but after seeing the rest, I have a feeling they just out-sourced to a printer's ready-made setup. The shots really get in the way of the storytelling, there's not a single decent clip of the guitars in question, and other than Rick's piece, you don't really get much information about anything because it's so randomly sequenced. The audio's all over the place (level wise, EQ wise, and compressed to the point where a cricket would dominate if it decided to chirp), the video either feels like a web cam or the frame rate's terribly low, and the way they compressed it as a whole really degraded the look (there are frame trails!). Anyway, I'm bummed to say the least. |

I'll retract one of the above comments. There are some decent clips of the Michael Lewis archtops. But still, the random German interludes make little to no sense. Especially when they're cooking dinner. |
