Lance, why is the forum access so slow? I've got a DSL line and navigating through the forum has been like swimming thorough corn syrup. What gives? --db |

one thing I do is I don't use the back button. I use Firefox, which has tabs. So I go through the forum and open each discussion I am interested to in a new tab. When I am done reading in a thread, I close the tab. When I post, I get a catastrophic failure, and close the tab (I know I didn't have to mention that part) Navagating the old way is rather slow here, but using tabs makes things fast enough, and you don't get spyware. |

If you don't want to change browsers, you can always right click on a link and select "open in new window", that's what I used to do before they invented tabbed browsing, speeds things up but you can end up with a lot of windows open. Mmm, tabbed browsing. You'll never go back. |

you can always use the "Active Topic" Button at the top, it will reduce the load time as all it brings up are the most active topics . |

Active Topic is one of the highlights of the new software. For some reason, and it may be related to size of database the software has to open (Main vs Active), but I've not been having any speed issues. |
