I just got an email from a 16-year-old beginning luthier who sent me a link
to his YouTube video of him building his first scratch acoustic guitar. I was
blown away by it, and thought you all might like to see it, too.

Here's the URL: http://www.youtube.com/yukonstrings.

His "Guitar Building The Fast Way" is great fun to watch ---- he also has put
up around 7 separate videos of the actual, real-time building process.

Enjoy!!! (I was particularly amazed at his skill at so young an age!)

Kathy

There is...at the end of the "Guitar Building Part 7" video, and on the "My
first homemade guitar!" video.

He has 9 videos --- 7 of the whole process (in slower motion than the "Fast"
one!). They're all listed when you click on "more videos from this channel"
under his name.

Oops...(now I see why people want an "EDIT" button)....my previous post was
in reply to the question about how his guitar sounded.

LARRY: Thanks for your kind words!

And...LANCE: It was great meeting you, too. Healdsburg was great. Your
guitars were, as usual, just beautiful! I still can't get over how friendly so
many luthiers are.... That's what makes Healdsburg so fun.

Kathy

That was very cool. If he sticks with it, he could have a promissing career, not luck all us old guys (I'm kidding)

That'll cut down on tool envy.  Very nicely done videos.

A nice reminder that it can be done well with little more than elbow grease. Inspiring, really. Good for him!!

I also like his selection of Mozart's Rondo alla turca in A minor for the background music.

What a great video, just watched the speedy one, Lance should really invite him to the forum. It just shows what can be done with the minimum of tools.

Certainly no problem using hot hide glue for joining the top and back at that speed

Great video(s)!!
