I have finished sanding Nitro finish up to 2000 grit. It doesn't seem to take long at all to get the guitar really shining. I use Miner. fine and very fine compound. Question is, how much time do you guys generally spend on the buffer?

Time is not important -unless you overheat the finish!

Sand level to the grit your happy with-buff out with at least 2 compounds (med. & fine) and polish with a sealer wax if you like!
Takes me 30 minutes a guitar to get it perfect!

Time????

What Mike said. Buff until shiny. Don't get it hot, or you'll regret it. Mine take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, but I use a small foam pad chucked into my drill press set at 300 RPM. I've got nothing but time...and after hours of building it would be a shame to rush the finish. It's one of the first things people notice. If its average they won't mention it, but if it's outstanding they all want to know how its done.
