I met John Mayes last night! What a great time! I just happened to be in Tulsa, OK on business, so I asked him if I could take him out to dinner. He most graciously accepted, and I drove down to OK City to meet him(about 1 ? hours). We had a great time visiting and talking. He showed me his shop, and some of the great woods that he owned. We tapped some beautiful LS redwood tops, some beautiful Ziricote, Brazilian backs, and a master cedar top. I saw some of the work in progress which was all very impressive. He sold me one of the neck blanks too! John is just a great guy, and very fun to be around. Thanks John for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit and open your home to me. Here is a picture of us in his shop.

Tracy, next time you're down this way give me a call as well. I live in Edmond, just north of OKC and am always looking to get together with other guitar makers.

BTW, are you the one who had those binding router bits for sale a while back? Do you have any more of the sets?

Dave

Hi Dave,
Wow, I didn't know you were that close to me! I wish I had more time here. I'd love to hook up with you. Maybe the next time I'm here.

Yes, I'm the one who is selling the binding router bits. I can get you a set. Payment includes shipping and is $150. It takes about 2 weeks from order to your door because I have to wait for the item to arrive. But you just need to tell me you want one, and I'll order it for you. Just let me know.
Regards,
Tracy

Sure thing Stan. I'd love to meet you sometime. I met a guy on another forum that was from somewhere around Bartlesville.

Haven't talked to him lately though. Can't remember his name right now. I think I have CRS disease.
