HI Folks, It's been a busy summer. I thought it was time to post a few photos. No engraving on this one! Many hours spent picking grapes....off the floor! A small froggy for our very own Mike Collins. (Mike, you tell them the story ) This was a set; 2inch tall grateful dead type skull and signature on the 12th fret. And these are what's bogged down the shop this summer. Lot's and lot's of Orange county Chopper boards! thanks for looking! Paul |

Hey Paul, shouldn't we be working on some colorful Maple Leaves in a certain flamed mahogany bound fretboard, like, right about soon? <g> Lovely work! |

I really like the GD skull, the ripple in the pearl looks perfect and really adds a lot of depth to it. I've been liking plain pearl inlay more and more lately because of the figure variations you can find in it. |

Paul; You as usual have made super inlays!!! (HOW DO YOU DO THAT?) The frog story may be too much to tell! oh what the heck! A very good client of mine sent me a picture of a frog inlay-with demensions-but he wanted more color! I sent the pix to Paul and he made the green frog!!!!! The guy says he wants pearl-so I tell paul and he makes a beautiful M.O.P. one! The guy says i want abalone!!!!! SO Paul makes a Paua one!!!!!!!!!!-Then the guy sends me a Capricorn design for his headstock!!!! Paul makes it & sends it within 3 days!!!!!!!! I have 2 of the frogs (one for the set of Braz I got from Pete at Cornerstone - the green one) The Paua frog and the Capricorn inlay -all at a great price -and the work Paul did is fantastic!!!!!!!! Paul made a feather for me awhile back and you could NOT tell it was NOT a real feather!!!!! By looking at it-just the weight of the pearl made it obvious! Mike Collins www.collinsguitars.com |

Paul, Really impressive work!!!! I love the Grapes. I'm guessin' you cut these by hand. What are the materials? Bob Long... "fellow blade breaker" (say that three times, fast...) |

Looks great Paul, I did a "zap skull" (sorry dead head lingo) on my bass years ago. Yours is perfect! Mine looked like a deadhead did it in the back of a VW bug while driving on a bumpy road Best, Evan |

"fellow blade breaker" (say that three times, fast...)[/QUOTE] Hey Bob, When you're serious, you do more than break blades.....you rip up carpet! By the time I dropped the 4th or 5th grape,(Black MOP), I found my stanley knife and went to work. (A new floor is coming.) Other materials on the inlay are MOP, Gold MOP. I'm still waiting for some photos with the finish on the peg head. |

floor and I can't stand the way the small pieces fall and bounce away into the 6th dimension, never to be found. I dreamed of one day putting down carpet. Maybe there is no easy answer? I love the pearl effect in that skull- the photo just rocks too. Perfect lighting! Best, Craig L |

I would sweep the floor around where I cut, and lay down a plain white sheet. King size! If a little piece went flying, at worse, I'd fold up the sheet and shake it back out. |

Hmm - Incredibly nice works as usual!!!! But what are the O.C.chopper inlays all about? Are they custom jobs people are requesting, or are they a line of signature guitars that someone is doing? I like the show, but I dont think Id have the logo custom inlayed on my guitar,(personally)... can you explain a little about these inlays? Cheers charliewood |
