I was setting up to try and use Synergy on my old Win XP Professional machine.  Something I did, somehow caused Windows to assign a new Default Administrator Account.  I had my machine set up so there was no logging in required.  And the Waddy Thomson Account was the only administrator.  Now, I can't get back to the Waddy Thomson Account.  Windows only reboots to the default administrator account.  It also won't let me delete that account. Using <Run> <control passwords2> I tried to set up "logging on" again, but the only account that shows up on the welcome screen is the newly assigned default Administrator account, and it shows none of the other system accounts.  How do I get it to show the other accounts again so I can sign in as Waddy Thomson, then delete the new default administrator account?

I can't answer your question directly, but you may be able to roll back to an earlier saved restore point and then reinstall with help from the Synergy people.

Tried that.  It was something else.  I still don't know what.  I went to <Control Panel> <Users> and checked the sign on to this computer box, then rebooted, and everything came back to normal.  I still don't understand.  It is why I have never been able to get a grip on Windows XP.  It is illogical at times, IMO.  Now the other Default Administrator account is gone.  along with a couple of others that I didn't know were there until this happened.  Go figure.  Either way, though, I have my settings back, and that was where I was trying to go.

Thanks for your help.

Well done... sounds like a narrow escape to me.
