Hi all -

This is my first post here.  Just completed my second kit build, and planning to do something from scratch next.  Want to base it on a guitar I played recently, and from what I know of it it has forward-shifted X-bracing.  Drew up a bracing pattern, with the intersection 1 inch below the sound hole - and boy, does this thing end up with a large bridge plate.

So, I have a general question - what to consider / watch out, anything specific I need to take into account?

This is the shape / bracing pattern I've come up with (I notice some distortion to the parallel lines in the picture, but it's close).  If anyone can offer feedback, it would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks - BillM

Well, I obviously don't have the hang of posting images yet - here's the link to the picture.

Thanks for the welcome, and also for looking over my plan.  I appreciate the feedback!

I like the idea of contouring the plate with the bridge.  Had looked over all the plans I've collected, and from there settled on 2" wide, positioned so the holes were right in the middle.  I much prefer a reason for the shape / size, as opposed to my mildly abitrary approach.

Many thanks!  - Bill

Hey Bill, your plan looks fairly standard.

Should work fine.
