Just looking for opinions here.... Which spruce would sound best with African Blackwood. I've done German and Italian and like the results of both. Now I'm thinking that Adirondack might be a good choice too. I'm looking for a nice warm (not muted) tone with a bit of sparkle to it. What does anyone think? Thanks, Don |

Don, Most of it is in the nands of the maker and those hands/ears will chose the right piece. Good Euro spruce works well - but you've done that. I don't know about Adi but I have used Shane's Lutz spruce on three instruments and I think that would work really well with African blackwood. |

Thanks Dave, It's most definitely in the hands/ears of the individual luthier. I'll certainly voice it to what I like. I've got my opinions, I just want to see what others think and/or are using. |

Really Heavily Figured Bearclaw Sitka Spruce. Get the primo stuff, since you're putting it on A. Blackwood. Steve |
