Can somebody please fill me in on the basic measurements of this design?

upper and lower bouts, waist, depth...

how would you all compare the tonal responses and such with a typical dread?...and if you have the knowledge, how does this design compare with lets say a 16" lower bout.  The reason I ask is because I am a rather aggressive strummer and have found that the slightly large size of Taylor's suits my tastes....yeah, I love full size jumbo Taylor makes...

I'll probably splurge for a set of the plans anyways, but any info that you all can provide would be marvelous!

thank you sir for taking the time to respond!...sounds like I will need to do a little research on bracing theory to bring out a tad more bass response than what you describe...and since one of the more important parts of a set of prints is the bracing pattern, I should be able to 'easily' modify the basic size of the SJ to a bit wider design just by adding a ?" to each half thereby gaining a total of a 16" lower bout, and still follow the bracing pattern and achieve a viable instrument...

I like the basic design of this, and its fairly similar to a taylor GS, which sits on one's leg a hell of a lot better than a d***d

If you really want some base but keep the deep waist shape, look at the MJ plans I donated to the library of plans. It is 16 1/4" LB and 20" long. Very load. I use basically the sane bracing scheme which is light but strong.

Parabolic bracing on either model works well. I showed scalloped bracing because that was my standard bracing. I have sense built 2 SJs with parabolic bracing. I am in the process of building an extra deep SJ that will be 4 5/8" at the the tail and 4" at the neck Adi/ Rosewood with parabolic bracing but will be scalloped only enough as needed for voicing.

The great thing about the SJ is it is great style crossover guitar. It has the energy for blues and bluegrass flat picking and the complexity (dependent on tonewood of course) for finger style.

Also Ameritage offers a custom fitted case for the OLFSJ
it is model # AM32OLF absolute dead perfect fit. A similar case for the MJ will be available soon I don't have a part number for it yet.
