I'd love to go, but I've been "grounded" for the rest of the year- I've got one more day out ON MY OWN in Chester next month, hubby can only do so much babysitting...

I played quite a bit with Bert in the late 60s early 70s up at the Troubadour in London, When the great players Bert, Martin Carthy, John Renbone and Davy Graham were regulars. In fact it was Bert that taught me to play Davy's seminal Anji and really switched me on to the possibilties that the acoustic guitar and altered tunings could yield. (Unfortunately as Martin Carthy always said, "Bert never played Anji properly"! Then again we all have our own Anji)

Bert's 'Rosemary Lane' album is still one of the best ever made, the title track is now one of my signature pieces.

Wish I could be there, truly one of the all time greats.

Colin
