Can I make a small plea to those starting new threads on the forum (I know it's been asked before).

Can you make the thread title relevant to the topic please. It makes it much easier to see which threads are of interest, and also when the thread gets archived much easier to search.

If we can see what the thread is about from the title it's much more likely to attract people that can answer the topic.

Thanks.

Colin

Hear!hear!

Just one question, Colin:
Why didn't you use one of the regular titles for this thread...you have a wide choice:
'Something I'm wondering'
'Another thing'
'Question'
'Is it only me?'

Cheers
John

John, your so sassy

Great idea Colin, Might be a good idea to have a sticky topic with some strong suggestions for things like this.

I did a search on this thread title. Just for sake of discussion, let's say it's a year from now and a vague memory what this discussion is about.

In the search I just put in the word "thread" because it's all I could think of, remember it's the future, 365 days from now. The return on this query netted:

2823 Results. Wow, I'll be looking for a while to find this exact thread now won't I?

Then I did a all forums search on the word "titles" ahh, much better only 42 results. That won't take long. But I forgot one thing, there will be hundreds of more threads added in the ensuing year.

A veritable avalanche of information to sort through looking for the proverbial "Needle in a Haystack".

No one ever forgets where the good stuff is. Someone's always linking back to it. Hopefully they always will? Anyone seen Bob Connors?

Bruce-
And hopefully, the new forum software will have a better search engine, too...
