No knots or wormholes, a bit of heartwood, but enough material to move pattern around to avoid heartwood if you desire. Back and sides cut from the same piece of 4/4 (1") lumber. Best 'eye I ever seen!

One HUGE set with a generous amount of usuable sapwood. There are a few tiny wormholes, but with careful layout you will be able to avoid these little guys. Back and sides cut from same piece of 4/4 (1") lumber. These days it's pretty rare to find HRW in sets this wide!

This 5 piece 3-1/8" x 4-1/16" x 26-3/8" billet is laminated with mahogany/walnut/maple/walnut/mahogany and is straight grained and is about as close to quartersawn as you can get. There are no knots wormholes or other defects.
