Have any of you read this book by neurologist Oliver Sacks (author of "The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat")? I think this will be going on my Christmas wish list.

Nope, but I'm getting it on the strength of the review.

In recent years I have grown to love music more and more.

Hi Dave,

I hadn't heard of that book.,.after checking your link I went to Amazon for pricing and reviews. First, they have 4 free clips of Sachs taking about the book. Also, the US list is $26 and Amazon has it for $15.60 plus. It's on my very long wish list now.

Thanks for the tip

He was interviewed this weekend on NPR. Good stuff. Maybe someone can find a podcast.

I listened to part of that show on NPR but didn't know it was Oliver Sacks. One of things that ne talked about was the physical differences in a musician's brain. From either brainscans or autopsy, you can't tell a brain difference between a painter, sculptor, or anyone else. But you can tell a difference between musicians and non-musicians.
