I am building new bender with two blankets and am stuck between 2.5w/in? or 5w/in?. I am leaning towards the 5w/in? however it makes the electrical control more complicated because of the larger load. If I use the 2.5w/in? what will I be compromising? Thanks! |

I have been bending with blankets for about 8 years. the wattage as noted will also help with thermo loss. I use 1 blanket 5 watts per inch. I just make sure of my temps. Like Todd , Mahogany and maple like the hot and dry. Rosewoods damp . Too much water is often more trouble than too little. In most cases just a light dampening is all you need. |

Thanks for the feedback. I am still curious what people do to control two blankets that exceed 1000w (a typical dimmer setup). I am building a new style bender that I think will need a blanket on top and bottom (I will post pics later). |
